This Wednesday students enjoyed using English through playing different games!
今週の水曜日、生徒たちはさまざまなゲームを楽しみながら、英語を使うことを楽しみました！

The first and second graders practiced colors and shapes with dancing and karuta.
1年生と2年生は、ダンスやカルタを通じて色や形について練習しました。

The third and fourth graders practiced counting with a “Counting Dance”, and alphabet letters with a “Snowman” word game.
小学3年生と4年生は、「カウントダンス」で数え方を練習し、「雪だるま」の単語ゲームでアルファベットの練習をしました。

The fifth and sixth graders practiced some common English questions with a scored question game. The highest scored team would win a prize!
5年生と6年生は、点数制のクイズゲームを通じて、よくある英語の質問の練習をしました。最高得点を記録した人には賞品が贈られました！

Here are about eight words related to summer, including sounds common bugs make in English.
夏に関連する単語は、英語でよく使われる虫の鳴き声を含めて、約8つあります。

What summer sweets do you like?
どんな夏のスイーツが好きですか？
This questionnaire board features Pusheen and friends as summery sweets while the students can use stickers to pick what they like.
このアンケートボードには、プシーンとその友達が夏らしいスイーツに扮して描かれており、生徒たちはステッカーを使って好きなものを選ぶことができます。

Pusheen is a popular and cute American character from Illinois!
プシーンは、イリノイ州発祥の、人気のあるかわいいアメリカのキャラクターです！

 

The students enjoy practicing writing to acquire stamps to earn stickers, so a Board to encourage writing has been made and the Challenge board has also finally been updated.
生徒たちは、ステッカーを受けるためにスタンプを集める書き取り練習を楽しんでいるため、書き取りを促すボードが作られ、チャレンジボードもようやく更新されました。

When describing what we did over the weekend, we sometimes say something like: “I enjoyed watching____…”, “I enjoyed playing _____…”
週末に何をしたかについて話すとき、英語話者は時々、「○○を見るのが楽しかった…」「○○をするのが楽しかった…」といったことを言います。

   

The students listened and took notes of the teacher’s examples of this type of sentence.
生徒たちは、この種の文についての先生の例に話を聞き、メモを書きました。

Next week, they will try making and speaking their own sentences
来週、彼らは自分で文を作って話してみることにします。

On Wednesday, the 6th graders started Unit 3 where they’ll practice talking about activities they did in their free time, and especially on the weekend.
水曜日、6年生はユニット3の学習を開始しました。
このユニットでは、自由時間、特に週末にしたことを伝え合います。

For this class activity, we did a listening quiz.
この授業のアクティビティで、リスニングクイズを行いました。

   

I gave a presentation about my weekend in English, then after discussion the students would answer questions in Japanese and if they could, in English too.
私は週末の話を英語でプレゼンテーションし、ディスカッションの後は、子供たちが日本語で質問に答え、できれば英語でも答えるようにしました。

 

On Monday the students practiced vocabulary for clothes worn depending on the weather.
月曜日、生徒たちは天気に応じた服に関する単語を練習しました。

 

The class played a game where they must remember and say the missing item in English.
クラスでは、英語で抜け落ちている単語を覚えて言い当てるゲームをしました。

Many students were excited to play.
多くの生徒が楽しく学ぶことができました。

 

The third graders listen and watch how people say hello in different countries.
3年生たちは、さまざまな国で人々がどのようにあいさつをするのを学習しました。

The first listening activity was to match the character with the country they said they’re from.
最初のリスニングアクティビティはキャラクターの出身の国を結びつけることでした。

“I’m from ____.”
「_______ から出身です。」

The next activity was to point to the flag of the country name you hear!
次のアクティビティは、聞いた国名の国旗を指さすことでした！

Last week’s 6th grade lesson started with some small talk.
先週の6年生の授業は、復習から始まりました。

Each student received their name card after responding to one question.
子供たちは、次のような質問に答えた後、各自のネーム・カードを受け取りました。

Can you play piano? 「ピアノは弾けますか？」
How do you spell your name? 「名前はどう書きますか？」
When’s your birthday? 「誕生日はいつですか？」

Then the students continued their Unit 1 of their textbook.
その後、教科書のユニット1の学習を続けました。

The first floor English board is decorated with spring flowers and vocabulary, and anyone can switch the weather cards to match the day’s weather!
一階のイングリッシュボードは春の花や単語で飾り、誰でもその日の天気に合わせて天気カードを入れ替えることができます！

 

Today is cloudy.
今日の天気は曇りです。

 

The second floor is also decorated with cherry blossoms and cards with sentences for activities to do during spring.
二階のイングリッシュボードも桜や春を楽しめるアクティビティの文章が書かれたカードを飾っています。

 

The cat characters say common expressions for conversation.
猫のキャラクターたちが、会話でよく使われるフレーズやあいさつを話しています。

The Challenge board has worksheets to encourage students to try writing English letters and words.
チャレンジボードには、児童が英語の文字や単語の書き方を練習できるワークシートが用意されています。

月曜日の授業は、過去1年間の授業内容の復習でした。

The students used the vocabulary and sentences they learned from prior lessons to play a bingo game!

生徒たちは、これまでの授業で学んだ英語の単語や文を使って、ビンゴゲームを楽しみました！

　　

Each student received an alphabet card with a question to ask other students, after they both answered, they crossed off their alphabet letter.

生徒が質問が書かれたアルファベットカードを受け取り、互いに質問に答えた後、自分のアルファベットの文字にチェックを入れました。 

　　

Many students got many bingos!

多くの学生が何度もビンゴを達成しました！　　

6th graders start Unit 8 “My Future, My Dream.”

6年生はユニット8「私の未来、私の夢」を始めました。

The goal for the unit is for the students to tell each other about the club activities they want to join in middle school and dreams for the future.

このユニットのゴールは、中学校で入りたい部活動や将来の夢について友達に伝えます。

 

Wednesday’s class started making presentations to share their aspirations.

水曜日の授業では、生徒たちが自分の将来したいことを伝え合うために、プレゼンテーションを作りました。

This week, the 2nd graders review emotions in English!

今週、２年生は英語で気持ちの表し方を練習しました。

The main game was charades.

メインアクティビティはジェスチャーゲームでした。

Each student showed a gesture, and the rest of the class guessed the emotion.

児童がジェスチャーを見せ、クラスメイトがその感情を当てました。

Sleepy and hungry were most popular.

眠いこととお腹が空いたことが人気でした。

Today the 5th graders gave a class presentation about their hero.

5年生は、自分のあこがれの人についてのクラス・プレゼンテーションをしました。

 

In this unit, students would introduce their idol and get to know each other more by talking about people they admire.

このユニットでは、生徒たちは自分のあこがれの人を紹介し、あこがれの人について話すことで、お互いをより知ることができました。

The students’ presentations were very interesting!

生徒たちのプレゼンテーションはとてもすばらしかったです！

They spoke very clearly, and overall they did a good job! 

はっきりと話し、発音も問題なく、よくできました！

Tuesday’s class started with a speaking exercise. Quick questions from prior lessons.

火曜日の授業はスピーキング練習から始まりました。前回のレッスンからの簡単な質問です。

Students ask their friends a question in English, and must respond in English.

生徒は友達に英語で質問し、英語で答えなければなりません。

“When is your birthday?”

「誕生日はいつですか？」

“How do you spell your name?”

「名前はどう書きますか？」

Unit 7 “My Best Memory” will have students talk about their favorite memories from school.

ユニット7「私の最高の思い出」では、生徒たちに好きな思い出について話してもらいます。

They will learn to convey places they went to, things they did, and what they felt from their experience.

訪れた場所、経験したこと、そしてその経験から感じたことを伝える方法を学びます。

The 4th graders learn to say places in English, including places around school (classroom, library…) and town (cafe, supermarket…).

4年生は、学校（教室、図書室…）や町中（カフェ、スーパーマーケット…）など、場所を英語で言うことを学びます。

 

They also practice listening for directions to get to a place (turn left, go straight).

また、場所への道順（左へ、まっすぐ）を聞き取る練習もしました。

 

Today they played Bingo by asking their friends:

今日は友達にこう聞いてビンゴを遊びました：

“Where do you like?”     「どこが好き？」

“I like…”     「~が好き...」

 

The third graders start a new Unit lesson.

三年生は新しい単元レッスンを始めます。

Today they practiced with a silhouette quiz and then a drawing game.

今日はシルエットクイズと絵描きゲームで練習しました。

   

Students had to guess the answer before the picture was finished.

絵を描き終える前に、生徒たちはそれが何なのかを推測しなければなりません。
